December Layouts- Part 2

This layout of Sophie is one of my favourites. Stampin' Up! makes life so easy, because everything matches. Ribbons match paper which matches inks and so it goes on. The colours on this page are Soft Sky, Pretty in Pink and Sahara Sand.

I stamped the swirl in Pretty in Pink on the Sahara Sand cardstock first and then layered the papers over the top.

I pulled out some matching ribbons and they looked so pretty together, so I decided to braid them down the side of the page. I stuck them to the back with tape and then just braided as I went, sticking it down with SNAIL adhesive every so often. I used a big silver brad at the bottom to pull it all together- I am in love with the result!

The silver frame has the word "Cherish" stamped in the pink inside. For the title, I stamped the alphabet letters and cut them out. I purposefully stuck them down all higgeldy-piggeldy (is that even a word!) so that I would not have to go mad trying to line them up!

This layout of my sister Megan illustrates how changing your colour scheme can totally change the look of a layout. The M is another chipboard piece, which I coloured in with green marker (Certainly Celery) and edged with a brown marker (Chocolate Chip).

The embellishment on the right is made with the following punches:

*Scallop circle
*1-3/8" circle
*1-1/4" circle
*5-Petal Flower
*Spring Flower Bouquet

December 2008 Layouts - Part 1

I am thrilled to share my layouts for December, would love to know what you think! And even more, I would love to see what you can do with this month's page map.

This layout of Sharon and Sophie would work really well as a double layout to go with the layout from last month's video. All I would do is swap the two embellishments over, so that the flower was on the left of the photo and the Girlie Girl on the right. The two layouts could then sit beautifully side by side in your album.

This page is made using the Crew Kids Girl kit, which includes 8 sheets of 12" x 12" cardstock and 6 sheets of adhesive die cuts. Our die cuts are re-positionable for up to 24 hours too which makes life much easier if you are lying in bed and trying to decide if you placed the flower on the correct side of the page! You can go to sleep easy kowing that you can fix it in the morning!
The cost of this kit is $36.95, please email me at rozzieoz@tpg.com.au for ordering details.

This layout of my son Dylan (who is now 17!) illustrates how you can use a title on this month's page map. The "d" is a chipboard letter, which I coloured with a marker. I struggled for months to ink chipboard pieces on ink pads until it struck me that the markers and ink pads are exactly the same ink.....I felt so stupid but there you go, markers work great on chipboard!

December Page Map

This is the page map for December. I know that it looks very similar to the November map, the difference is that this map has the decorative paper down the side, not at the bottom. I know it is a small thing, but that is the whole point of this- by making very slight adjustments to a layout or a colour scheme, you can totally change the look of the page.

Remember, I am new at this so we are taking this slowly!

My first Scrapbooking video

This is the final layout for November. Enjoy the video!

Having trouble getting started?

STEP 1:
Sort through some of your photographs and put some suitable images aside. For this month, suitable photographs can be cut square-ish and stand alone on a layout.

STEP 2:
Look at the colours in the photo. Go through your decorative papers and ribbons, and find two or three papers and ribbons that match. Stampin' Up! makes this step very easy, as all the products match and co-ordinate.

STEP 3:
Follow the page map and layer your papers and photo.

STEP 4:
Finish the layout off with some of your chosen embellishments. This is the part where you really make it YOUR layout!

STEP 5:
Scan and email to rozzieoz@tpg.com.au

A Christmas layout

This layout was created with a Stampin' Around wheel, So Swirly. I inked it with Real Red ink and rolled it all over the Very Vanilla card. I used a blender pen and Always Artichoke ink to colour the green bits over the red swirls. I inked the Christmas tree with markers. I am really thrilled with the result, hope you like it!

This is the last layout for this challenge. I am going to be spending next week coming up with a new map and some new layouts. In the meantime, show me what you can do!

First Layout Challenge

This layout is 6" x 6". I am going to be doing this size for a while until I get confident.
Anyway, see how you go. Use the map as a guide for you to come up with your own layout, with either a photo or a stamped image.

These are my layouts for this challenge.

I would LOVE to see what you can do. I intend to do some scrapbooking videos as well, so please stay tuned.
